Our Center

Pomona Hope rents and operates its Community Center through a partnership with First Presbyterian Church of Pomona. 401 North Gibbs Street is an inspiration for Pomona Hope, in more ways than one. This large Christian Education building in the heart of the City includes a gym, a stage, three kitchens, five large group rooms, and over two dozen small classrooms. It was built in the 1940s to serve an abundance of Pomona’s children—in the thousands—seeking to learn about God’s love. Over time, as membership at the church declined, so did the use of the building. Some of the vision for Pomona Hope came from the building itself: how could such an amazing resource go unused in a community with such great need? We are using all three floors and the commercial-sized kitchen. Today, the building is again full of life.
